Join our team as an Estimator! Delve into the heart of projects by reviewing documents, drawings, and specifications. Your expertise will be key in crafting accurate estimates for costs and selling prices.

Estimator Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of detailed take-offs and creation of necessary scope of work documents necessary for the full and comprehensive project details and requirements
  • Read, review, and evaluate golf course plans to develop project scope of work which then drives the estimating process.
  • Coordination of specific vendor and subcontractor site walks to facilitate effective scope development.
  • Facilitate effective vendor, subcontractor and direct labor negotiation and buy out as a part of the estimating process.
  • Effectively assess, clarify, and validate client needs through the use of request for information.
  • Work to pre-determine an estimated project schedule, scope, and budget and facilitate team members in establishing the job specifications to meet client and company objectives.
  • Assemble scope of work, pricing, conditions, and qualifications and ensure proper approval is received prior to proposal submittals.
  • Maintain a positive relationship between the company, vendors, subcontractors, and the client.
  • Build and maintain a network of qualified vendors and subcontractors necessary to price and estimate new opportunities to ensure the company is competitive.
  • Attending pre-bid meetings as required.
  • Maintain a complete knowledge of all operations systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Issue purchase orders and track materials.

Estimator Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • A college degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience as an Estimator in golf course construction required.
  • Must be detailed oriented and have excellent oral/written communication skills.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints and architectural drawings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Plan Swift, AutoCAD, or Bid2

    Win experience a plus.
  • Requires some overtime and weekend work.
  • May require some overnight travel.
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking and be efficient in time management.
  • Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to sit and work on a computer most of the workday.

This role is classified as safety sensitive. Candidates must show the capacity to proactively initiate, effectively lead, and consistently uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards. Compliance with this requirement is a fundamental condition for employment.
