Supply Chain Contract & Strategic Sourcing Manager
Location:
Houston, TX (Onsite 4 days/week, Remote Fridays)
Duration: 6-month contract to hire
OverviewAn industry-leading infrastructure and environmental services organization is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Contract & Strategic Sourcing Manager to support procurement and supplier contracting initiatives for large-scale operational and renewable energy projects.
This role will serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, suppliers, and legal teams, managing the end-to-end contract lifecycle from sourcing and vendor evaluation through MSA negotiation, contract execution, and post-contract performance analysis.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in procurement contracting, supplier negotiations, and strategic sourcing, and is comfortable working cross-functionally with project managers, legal teams, and vendors to ensure contracts align with operational goals and corporate policies.
Key ResponsibilitiesContract Management & Negotiation
- Lead the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including intake, due diligence, supplier evaluation, contract drafting, negotiation, and execution
- Manage Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and procurement contracts with vendors providing goods and services
- Conduct contract redlining and negotiations, partnering closely with internal legal teams to finalize agreements
- Provide recommendations to business stakeholders and legal teams regarding contract structure, risk mitigation, and supplier terms
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
- Support direct procurement and sourcing initiatives to drive cost reduction and operational efficiency
- Facilitate RFI/RFQ processes for project equipment and services related to operational and infrastructure initiatives
- Evaluate suppliers based on pricing, delivery performance, product quality, and contractual terms
- Partner with project managers, cost controllers, and schedulers to support sourcing needs for capital and operational projects
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, suppliers, and legal partners throughout the contracting process
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure contracts deliver expected value
- Analyze supplier spend, vendor SLAs, compliance metrics, and cost trends
- Manage contract performance reviews and support contract renewals when appropriate
Reporting & Operational Support
- Develop and maintain reporting tools to track sourcing initiatives, contract performance, and supplier KPIs
- Support supply chain initiatives related to supplier consolidation, contract compliance, and cost optimization
- Coordinate logistics execution with project managers, carriers, and 3PL partners when required
Required
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, strategic sourcing, or contract management
- Strong experience managing MSA contract negotiations and procurement contracts
- Experience owning the full contract lifecycle
- Ability to work cross-functionally with business stakeholders, suppliers, and legal teams
- Strong analytical and financial analysis skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience working with procurement or contract management platforms (Coupa, Procore, or similar)
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience in energy, oil & gas, LNG, utilities, or heavy industrial procurement environments
- CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) certification
