Our founder spent 8 years as a commodity derivatives trader built Moshi to be the analyst she always wanted. We’re a team of software engineers, ML specialists, and financial quants from JPMorgan, Microsoft, Black Rock, and NASA.
We are a seed-stage startup backed by Mercury Fund - Houston’s leading VC.
We're in active enterprise pilots with institutional hedge funds, asset managers, and banks and building across energy and macro markets today - expanding into rates, FX, credit, and equities.
Many have tried to do this and failed, we are uniquely placed because of our team, expertise and network. We have demoed our product in front of some of the most profitable investment banks across the world and they have said they have not seen anything like this
We are early-stage, fast-moving and AI-native. We’re at the point of hiring our first commercial lead – someone who will take us from founder-led sales into a scalable revenue engine. This is the ground floor.
The RoleYou’ll be our first commercial hire. No playbook, no inherited pipeline, no excuses. Your job is to find traders and financial investors who need Moshi, get them using it, and turn their feedback into product gold. Our team is a culture of hustlers, we get things done and we ship fast. We are looking for a GTM who feeds off the same energy and is buzzing to get out there and get every single financial investor excited about Moshi.
This isn’t a "sales" role in the traditional sense. You’ll be equal parts evangelist, customer discovery machine, and product whisperer. You’ll demo to portfolio managers, synthesize feedback at noon, and shape our ICP by end of week.
What You’ll Do- Outbound & Pipeline: Build and own the prospect list. Cold outreach to banks, hedge funds, trading desks, asset managers, family offices. Book your own demos. Close pilots.
- Demo & Discovery: Run product demos that speak trader. Understand their workflows, pain points, and what would make them pay. Turn every call into intel.
- Early Revenue: Get to paid pilots and build up revenue. Prove the value proposition has legs.
- ICP Refinement: Document everything. Who converts? Who churns? Why? Build the playbook for whoever comes after you.
- You’ve sold to the buy-side or sell-side. Hedge funds, investment banks, asset managers, prop shops, wealth managers – you know the personas, the procurement cycles, and how to get past gatekeepers.
- You speak trader. You know what "the front month rolled into backwardation" means. You can talk flows, positioning, and market structure without a script.
- You’ve done fintech or data/analytics sales. Bloomberg terminal, Refinitiv, Fact Set, Kensho, Visible Alpha, or similar. You understand how traders across energy, macro, rates, FX, and equities evaluate and buy tools.
- You want startup, not safety. You’re energized by ambiguity, not paralyzed by it. You’d rather build something than inherit it.
- You’re obsessed with feedback loops. Every "no" teaches you something. You document, synthesize, and iterate. You’re as valuable to product as you are to revenue.
- Former trader, analyst, or someone who sat on a desk
- Energy/commodities market experience (our founder’s background)
- Network in Houston, New York, London, or Singapore trading communities
- Experience at an early-stage startup (Seed to Series A)
- Meaningful equity in a VC-backed company with real traction
- Competitive base + commission on closed revenue
- Direct line to the CEO and engineering team (who built the product and knows the market)
- Influence over product direction—- your customer conversations directly shape what we build
- NYC based preferred, open to Houston for the right person
