Position OverviewVice President - Business Development – Midstream, based out of our Houston office. The Vice President of Business Development will drive the expansion of ARM Energy’s Midstream business, including services on the Mustang Express Pipeline. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of our pipeline platform and influence deals that matter — both to our customers and our bottom line.
This is a high-impact, commercially driven role.
- Drive Growth:
Identify and close new business opportunities with end-users, LNG, power/gas utilities, and industrial customers - Build & Grow Relationships:
Develop long-term partnerships with key decision-makers and establish ARM as a trusted solutions provider. Grow customer relationships to create business value - Own the Deal Process:
From origination through negotiation and close, including structuring commercial terms, reviewing contracts, and collaborating across legal, engineering, and finance. Lead/Support transactional and commercial negotiations - Evaluate Opportunities:
Perform economic and commercial due-diligence analysis of storage, transportation, and acquisition prospects - Strategy:
Participate in helping shape ARM’s go-to-market approach with insights into customer needs, market dynamics, and emerging trends - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work hand-in-hand with gas supply, trading, engineering, and leadership to deliver integrated solutions - Represent ARM:
Travel as needed to industry events, customer meetings, and board presentations
- Industry
Experience:
15+ years in natural gas midstream, pipeline marketing, or business development; LNG, storage, or utility experience a plus - Commercial Acumen:
Proven success in structuring and closing deals with end-users and understanding what drives profitability - Relationship Builder:
Strong network among large industrial customers, utilities, or energy marketers - Strategic Mindset:
Ability to see the big picture, assess opportunities, and shape deal strategy - High level of self-motivation:
Ability to get things done without direct supervision - Effective Communicator:
Excellent verbal and written skills — comfortable engaging C-suite execs and internal stakeholders alike - Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously and stay extremely organized in a fast-paced environment
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related field required - Will require the ability to work within a small entrepreneurial team environment to help the organization achieve results
- Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and prioritize tasks
- Fluent in English, oral and written required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and build strong working relationships with customers
- Ability to expand the Company’s network with new customers and deal opportunities
- Interpret and negotiate contracts, operating agreements and other legal documents, run economic evaluations
- Capture Incremental margin opportunities around Company owned pipeline systems via daily and interruptible marketing opportunities
- Participate in transactional and commercial negotiations
- Work directly with commercial, engineering, legal, and other key internal teams throughout transaction/ project opportunities
- Special projects as requested by Senior Leadership
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
