Q-Edge Corporation is seeking an experienced FTZ Program Lead to own and lead its Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) operations. This role is responsible for ensuring full compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations under 19 CFR and applicable Department of Commerce requirements under 15 CFR, while driving operational excellence across FTZ activities.
The FTZ Program Lead serves as the primary subject-matter expert and program owner for FTZ compliance and operations, combining regulatory expertise with hands-on operational leadership. This position interfaces directly with CBP and other government agencies, manages FTZ admissions and inventory controls, and integrates FTZ processes into broader supply chain, logistics, and enterprise systems. The role is critical to safeguarding compliance, enabling efficient cargo flow, and supporting Q-Edge’s manufacturing and logistics operations.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:- Lead and oversee Q-Edge’s FTZ program, ensuring full compliance with 19 CFR, 15 CFR, and CBP operational requirements
- Manage FTZ admissions, customs entries, zone status determinations, and reporting obligations
- Maintain accurate FTZ inventory control, reconciliation, and recordkeeping systems to ensure full traceability of all movements
- Prepare, review, and file daily, monthly, and annual FTZ reports, including all CBP-required submissions
- Serve as the primary point of contact with CBP and other regulatory agencies, supporting audits, inquiries, and site visits
- Conduct internal audits and transactional data analysis to identify discrepancies, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Oversee import/export tracking, documentation, customs classification, valuation, and country-of-origin determinations
- Coordinate closely with logistics, procurement, manufacturing, and warehouse teams to streamline inbound and outbound material flows
- Integrate FTZ and customs processes with ERP, WMS, and TMS platforms
- Support on-site logistics planning and supervision for shipments, storage, and handling within the Houston campus
- Provide operational leadership to ensure proper documentation, movement control, safety, and compliance across FTZ activities
- Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize space utilization, inventory accuracy, and regulatory adherence
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience in customs compliance, FTZ administration, or import/export operations
- Hands-on Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) experience preferred
- Certified Zone Specialist (CZS) preferred
- FTZ Administrator Certification or similar preferred
- Professional credentials such as Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Accredited Zone Specialist (AZS), or CZS preferred
- Deep understanding of U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR), ACE, and import/export documentation requirements
- Proven experience coordinating directly with CBP and other regulatory authorities
- Experience standing up, activating, or managing a new FTZ site preferred
- Familiarity with FTZ or trade compliance software (e.g., Integration Point, SAP GTS, or similar systems)
- Background in complex manufacturing or technology-driven industrial supply chain environments preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; detail-oriented and self-directed
- Ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels and functions
