The chosen VP of Procurement will report directly to the CFO and will frequently collaborate with senior leaders. This role is integral to a trusted team of finance and business experts, tasked with implementing financial and business strategies.
Stepping into this new position means being at the forefront of dynamic growth objectives driven by diversification and expansion of current ventures. This role offers a unique opportunity to establish a new Procurement group at the Corporate level. Leveraging our growth and diversified ventures, the goal is to maximize value. The scope includes procurement of products and services ranging from office essentials to construction materials.
Candidates should have overseen an annual spend of $250+ million and achieved substantial savings.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Initiate and lead a centralized Procurement team, establishing standard practices, tools, policies, and strategies for enterprise-wide procurement management.
- Oversee procurement functions to ensure efficient sourcing of essential goods and services.
- Design and implement strategic sourcing plans focused on value creation.
- Enhance supplier collaboration, leverage supplier innovation, and improve product profitability.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, analyze pricing dynamics, and lead initiatives to reduce procurement expenses without sacrificing quality.
- Assess supply chain risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with financial and ethical standards.
- Promote a client-centric approach within the team, encouraging innovation, value-addition, revenue generation, and cost savings.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless procurement processes and beneficial supplier partnerships.
- Refine the end-to-end procurement process, from sourcing to delivery.
- Stay informed about market trends, emerging technologies, and industry advancements to guide procurement strategies and maintain competitiveness.
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong business acumen with a confident, approachable, and humble demeanor.
- Excellent relationship-building skills across all organizational levels, with a collaborative approach and conflict resolution abilities.
- Proven experience leading a centralized Procurement unit.
- Expertise in contract negotiation, formulation, review, and invoicing.
- Analytical skills with experience in KPI development, monitoring, and costing analysis.
- Familiarity with supply chain management tools such as Coupa.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective leadership skills that focus on results rather than hierarchy.
- Ability to attract top talent and foster a high-performance, team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and results-driven mindset.
- Located in Houston or willing to relocate.
