Inventory Planner - Early Career

Summary

The position is responsible for performing inventory management activities for the Polyethylene Group utilizing a model based inventory management system. It will require interaction with sales, customer service, production planners, business managers, and logistics for the purpose of overall inventory management.

• Oversee and plan inventory at warehouses and terminals to meet customer demand
• Maintain route and lead-time parameters in scheduling model
• Work together with Production Planners and Shipping Coordinator to meet customer demand supplied from warehouses and terminals
• Respond daily to changes in customer demand and take action to maintain optimal inventories
• Create and update stock transfer orders as needed
• Communicate proactively with Sales and Customer Experience teams on product availability at warehouses and terminals
• Coordinate with Product Management to ensure safety stock levels are aligned with business needs
• Provide routine reports on inventory to Product Management for their review
• Backup other positions as needed
• Any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or another closely related field.
• Open to recent college graduates. (Relevant internships, co‑ops, or project experience will also be considered.)
• Willingness to learn planning systems, scheduling models, and ERP tools.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort with data.
• Must be detail-oriented and proficient at data gathering, data analysis, and time management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Other Office tools
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and build strong working relationships.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
10% travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
