Overview

The North American Sales Director is responsible for leading and executing the sales strategy across the North American region. This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and aims to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and build strong relationships with key customers and partners. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with proven leadership skills and a track record of achieving ambitious sales targets in a competitive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the North American market, including technical and disciplinary management of area sales managers. Promote and sell technical and/or nontechnical products, brands and/or services and solutions.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team, fostering accountability and success. Maintain and expand the customer base by leading and coaching sales representatives.
  • Drive consistent revenue growth through new business development and expansion of existing accounts.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities and risks. Create and implement product launch plans with marketing, sales, field service, and partners to communicate product value propositions and provide training.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and loyalty. Articulate outbound tasks to explain feature benefits and translate them into customer-facing messages. Deliver product demonstrations at trade shows and webinars, present to customers and prospects, and create marketing collateral. Define the product for market understanding.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align strategies and deliver seamless customer experiences.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, performance reports, and actionable insights to senior leadership, including monthly forecasted opportunity lists.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in North America.
  • Experience in the energy, oil and/or gas sector with measurement technology, and knowledge of mid-stream and downstream operations.
  • Strong understanding of regional market dynamics and customer behavior.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed across North America.
