Director of Sales

Overview

Double Tree by Hilton Hotel & Suites by the Galleria, located in the upscale Galleria area is looking for an experienced Director of Sales and Marketing. This position is an active selling role that requires ambition, strategic sales and marketing skills, and extensive knowledge of the Houston market.

• At least 4 years of previous Director of Sales & Marketing experience in full service hotels
• Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications and or relevant computer applications required
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
• Strong interpersonal skills to assess client needs, negotiate pricing, effectively deal with internal and external guests and provide overall guest satisfaction
• Ability to work flexible hours

• Actively sell hotel rooms and meeting space to support the sales department achieve top line revenue goals.
• Direct the solicitation efforts of the sales staff through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate, date and space commitments for group room sales within the hotel.
• Manage sales team and provide support and development
• Compile annual and monthly forecast reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department.
• Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies.
• Develop and manage revenue and activity goals
• Perform administrative duties: payroll, performance evaluations
• Responsible for development and implementation of hotel advertising and promotions
• Develop and maintain a close relationship with local CVB and Chamber of Commerce
