Job Summary: Xylem is hiring a Business Development Specialist to support our legacy Evoqua Power Heavy Industry segment. The Business Development Specialist is responsible for identifying opportunities for business growth, optimizing marketing strategies, and contributing to the company’s long-term success. This role involves analyzing business processes and finances, implementing business plans, and establishing effective networks.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze business operations to evaluate and expand business operations to drive sustained growth.
  • Monitor revenue streams and identify opportunities to increase profitability.
  • Evaluate and improve sales, marketing, and branding strategies.
  • Perform competitor analysis to gain increased market share and develop new lines of business based on consumer behavior.
  • Develop client relationships and strengthen industry partnerships.
  • Negotiate and close business deals that promote sustained revenue.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical, petroleum, or environmental) or a related field with at least 5 years of experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience as a Business Development Specialist in a related industry.
  • Proficiency in integrated business management and CRM software, such as Net Suite and Salesforce.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Advanced knowledge of business development, marketing strategies, and brand expansion.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Availability and willingness to travel up to 50% within North America (U.S. and Canada).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical understanding of water and wastewater treatment systems and chemistry.
  • Experience in the following industry verticals:
    Power, CPI, HPI, and Food.
  • Innovation – Propose creative solutions.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software is also beneficial.
  • Effectively manage improvement projects throughout the project’s life cycle, ensuring strategic alignment and deliverable focus.
