Essential Duties / Responsibilities
  • Interact with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand project charters and business objectives, gather, document and analyze needs, and translate them into requirements for project execution.
  • Utilize business experience and skills to assess and advise on the practicality of alternatives, mitigating technical limitations with operational realities to produce fit‑for‑purpose solutions.
  • Investigate and determine business requirements, application gap analysis, and provide value to both internal and external customers.
  • Work collaboratively with management, employees and project resources to execute on prioritized work and ensure deadlines are met with quality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all project stakeholders, including IT and business groups.
  • Provide level‑of‑effort estimates for scope and complexity of business analysis deliverables and hold self to commitments.
  • Map current and future state processes to identify improvements and design workflow for new or enhanced websites and applications.
  • Support project teams through all aspects of execution, including requirements gathering, user story creation, and testing.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives for the Project Execution Team.
Working Conditions
  • Open office environment.
  • Some overtime required as special projects arise.
  • Minimal travel.
Minimum Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and support team deliverables.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
  • Ability to lead by influence rather than by reporting structure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus on systems or process development (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • 3+ years of experience in an energy industry environment.
  • Self‑directed with comfort working with individuals at all organizational levels; effective at managing multiple activities and meeting deadlines.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience analyzing and developing business processes and participating in business process and system improvement efforts.
Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of NRG platforms, processes and products across the retail footprint.
  • Knowledge of process excellence methods such as Business Process Management, Six Sigma, and Project Management.
  • Experienced user of SQL Server, VBA, Oracle, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio (or Miro).
Physical Requirements
  • Most of the time spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move around.
