- Customer Interaction:
Greet customers, conduct initial inspections, listen to concerns, document accurately, and provide explanations and recommendations. - Service Coordination Schedule appointments, use workshop resources efficiently, prioritize repairs with technicians, and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
- Estimation and Quoting:
Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor and parts, explain estimates to customers, and address any questions. - Documentation and Administrative Tasks:
Create and maintain service records, process invoices and payments, and manage warranty claims and paperwork. - Technical Knowledge and Support:
Stay updated on automotive technology and trends, provide basic technical advice when appropriate. - Customer
Education:
Educate customers on maintenance, care requirements, and recommend preventive maintenance based on history and manufacturer guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Automotive Service Advisor or similar role.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in automotive systems and diagnostics.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
- Ability to work well under pressure and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Familiarity with automotive service software and tools.
- Sales experience or ability to upsell services and products.
- Typically works in a dealership or automotive repair shop environment.
- May require occasional lifting of heavy objects and prolonged standing.
