Land Analyst reports to the Land Manager. This position is responsible for the entry and verification of document data and tying agreements to spatial data (GIS parcels). Though primarily digital, the work may also involve review of physical alignment sheets and support documentation, as needed.
Qualifications- Experience in Land records administration, management and documentation of pipeline systems
- Experience correctly interpreting land related legal descriptions, plats, alignment sheets and maps is required.
- Understanding basic terms in various land agreements as easements, permits, deeds, ordinances, and assignments is required.
- Basic land title experience is required.
- Experience working with Quorum data products required. On Demand Land experience is preferred.
- Experience with Google Earth and GIS software (ESRI products) is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with concentration on Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
- Strong communication skills, effective interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Must possess a strong analytical ability with attention to detail.
- Review alignment maps to accurately identify different pipeline assets and associated surface ownership/grantor information.
- Categorize, organize, and file documentation in a manner consistent with the alignment map.
- Create connections between the digital document and the appropriate parcel data.
- Review document details in the land database system to ensure accuracy. For example, verification of Grantor/Grantee information, recording data, basic property descriptions, affected asset(s), as well as tract and provision details.
- Document types include easements, real property leases, deeds, and various other land documents.
- Update and audit land database as necessary.
- Plot legal descriptions, as needed, using deed plotting software, and identify the correct locations on associated as-built alignment sheets and GIS parcel data.
- Other duties as assigned.
