POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Coordinator assists and supports the Superintendent & Project Manager on assigned projects. The Project Coordinator provides administrative and limited technical support to the project team; as outlined in the list of duties and responsibilities. The Project Coordinator must be a flexible and adaptable team player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
MAJOR
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with project teams and provide support through a variety of administrative scopes.
- Distributes and follows up on Subcontracts and Purchase Orders.
- Assists with preparing Subcontract exhibits.
- Input cost codes and procurement “need-by” dates based on project schedules.
- Accurate and timely entries into Prime's data base and other project collaborative software.
- Assists with tracking of project related submittals in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Assists with tracking and reviewing of change orders.
- Assists Estimators / Project Managers in preparing Subcontractor prequalification forms.
- Assists Project Manager by distributing & tracking Requests for Information/Architects’ Supplemental Instructions (RFI, ASI).
- Assist in preparations of bid packages.
- Assist with meeting agendas, minutes, and document logs.
- Provide input for owner project status reports, as required.
- Assist Prime in maintaining OSHA documentation and postings.
- Attend project meetings, as directed by Project Manager and Superintendent.
- Assist with project close-out documentation and submittals.
- Provide general administrative support of project team as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES:
- Good time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Dependability, timeliness, and pays attention to details.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of Autodesk software platforms & Prolog, or ability to learn.
- Ability to remain flexible and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to make intelligent and quick decisions, work well under pressure, and when faced with unexpected occurrences and delays.
- Ability to effectively multitask among multiple projects.
- Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to read specifications for all trades.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math/accounting skills.
- Functions effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED.
Construction Management or General Contractor experience a plus, but not required.
Experience in any other construction-related fields a plus, but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to travel periodically to project sites (with notice) within the greater Houston area.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
