GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Perform highly complex (senior-level) administrative support or technical program assistance work. Work involves coordinating the dissemination of information, developing filing systems, and coordinating internal administrative support work. May supervise the work of others. Work under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIALDUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret and disseminate information concerning division programs and procedures.
- Coordinate the preparation, editing, and distribution of correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents.
- Coordinate general office duties such as ordering supplies, performing basic bookkeeping work, and assisting with general Human Resources work.
- Coordinate meetings, conferences, and seminars.
- Develop and maintain filing, record-keeping, and records management systems.
- Respond to inquiries regarding technical program or administrative regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in the planning and execution of an agency program.
- Compile and edit data for charts, graphs, logs, and databases; prepares summaries or reports.
- Assist in researching technical issues.
- Answer phone calls, route incoming calls, take messages, greet visitors, and direct visitors to the appropriate staff.
- Manage and maintain schedules and travel arrangements for supervisors/managers.
- May research compose, design, or edit agency publications such as brochures, forms, manuals, and reports or presentations.
- May develop and review training materials.
- May review and edit reports to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
- May develop administrative and technical policies and procedures.
- May supervise the work of others.
- Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.
- Perform other work as assigned.
- Education – Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is required. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Liberal Arts, Business or Public Administration, Social Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience – Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an environment involving concentrated use of personal computers using word processing software in a law enforcement environment is required. Substitution

Licensure and/or Certification – Must possess a valid driver license from state of residence.
Regulatory knowledge – Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TXDPS, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures.
Interpersonal Skills – Must demonstrate an ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy and an ability to establish and maintain positive, working/professional relationships with internal/external customers.
