Cost Accountant

A growing manufacturing plant is seeking a hands-on, proactive Plant Cost Accountant to support inventory accuracy, costing, and operational financial visibility. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being out on the shop floor, partnering with operations, and owning the details behind product cost, margins, and inventory health.

• Support day‑to‑day plant accounting activities with a focus on inventory accuracy, inventory costing, and BOM/BOF maintenance.
• Conduct routine cycle counts, stock level reviews, and variance investigations.
• Perform weekly/monthly/quarterly gross margin analysis and provide insights to leadership.
• Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, inventory roll‑forwards, and account reconciliations.
• Analyze cost drivers, margins, and product profitability; identify risks, trends, and opportunities.
• Partner closely with production teams to validate data on the shop floor and ensure system accuracy.
• Collaborate with IT on ERP (Epicor) issues, maintenance, and system improvements.
• Prepare internal reporting for audits, tax schedules, and management reviews.

• 3–5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or plant environment

• Strong understanding of GAAP, manufacturing cost flows, and inventory valuation.
• Experience supporting BOM/BOF structures and standard costing.
• Comfortable working in a hands‑on environment with operations and production teams.
• Proficiency with Epicor (preferred) or another major ERP.
