The Revenue Accountant II is responsible for performing complex data entry from detail provided with payment into the Oil & Gas Revenue Posting system including the interpretation of different types of data based on individual purchasers coding systems. under the supervision of and reporting to the Supervisor, Revenue Accounting for an assigned area.
In This Role, You Will
* Process revenue for selected non-operated properties including check input, Masterfile setup, maintenance and error resolution
* Retrieve statement and payment support from remitters' websites, banking institutions and Energylink
* Verify prices, dates and the balancing of cash to recorded review
* Input data from revenue checks including the variance analysis required and transfer of data from Quorum's revenue system to Quorum's financial system
* Research and reconcile outstanding revenue receipts
* Collaborated with Land Administration to ensure revenues are booked accurately and owners are paid correctly
* Identify properties with interest discrepancies and follows up with external parties to resolve
* Reconcile various General Ledger accounts
* Assist with Revenue Owner Relations inquiries by answering questions
* Participate in special projects, as assigned by management
What We Require
* Bachelor's degree in Business, with at least 12 hours of accounting or equivalent in experience preferred.
* At least 3 years of revenue accounting experience, with an in-depth understanding of revenue accounting.
* Experience in Quorum preferred but not required
* Strong analytical skills including problem-solving and the ability to quickly manage a high volume of revenue checks
* Highly developed knowledge of computer software including experience with calculations, VLOOKUPs and pivot tables in Excel.
* Solid interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a small team environment as well as with external parties
* Ability to function independently and is self-motivated
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and comply with stated deadlines
* Good understanding of oil and gas and mineral leasing
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a plus to this role
