Sr. Accountant

Description

Our client has an immediate need for a Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys a mix of hands-on accounting work, financial analysis, and collaboration with leadership. The position offers a hybrid schedule with flexibility, strong exposure to financial reporting, and the opportunity to work closely with leadership in a growing organization.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and providing financial insight through reporting and analysis. The schedule is hybrid with two days in-office and three days remote, with typical hours around 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, though some flexibility is available.

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules

+ Perform balance sheet reconciliations and review income statements for accuracy

+ Assist with and support month-end and year-end close processes

+ Prepare financial statements and assist with financial reporting

+ Analyze financial results and explain variances to management

+ Participate in client financial review calls and provide accounting insights

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies

+ Assist with audit preparation and documentation when needed

+ Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency

+ Support and mentor junior accounting staff when applicable

Requirements

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

+ Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting

+

Experience with financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close

+ Strong Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs

+

Experience with Quick Books or Sage accounting systems

Preferred Qualifications

+

Experience with Sage Intacct, Quick Books Online, or Restaurant
365

+ CPA or CPA eligibility

+ Restaurant industry accounting experience
