Job Description & How to Apply Below

A growing independent E&P company is hiring a Senior Revenue Accountant to own the full revenue accounting cycle for operated and non-operated properties. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to leadership, meaningful process improvement work, and strong growth upside as the company continues executing acquisitions and expansion plans.

Why this role stands out
  • In-office Monday–Friday (9/80s with every other Friday off
    )
  • Benefits
    :
    Health coverage effective first day of the month following hire
    , plus 401(k) match 100% up to 6% with no waiting period
  • Small, collaborative accounting team (~6 in accounting) with mentorship from Controller/CFO and opportunity to interface directly with the CFO
  • Concrete growth plan: acquisitions, capital raising, and expanding operational complexity
What you’ll do

You will manage the complete revenue accounting cycle and support continuous improvement across systems and workflows, including:

  • Process and reconcile monthly oil & gas revenue; validate royalty and working interest distributions
  • Interpret marketing agreements and reconcile purchaser statements for volumes, pricing, and deductions
  • Prepare journal entries for revenue, transportation, processing fees, and applicable taxes
  • Reconcile revenue-related GL accounts; research and resolve variances/discrepancies
  • Prepare and file severance and royalty tax reports in compliance with state/federal requirements
  • Process non-op revenue and JIBs
  • Support month-end/quarter-end close (accruals, variance analysis)
  • Partner cross-functionally with land, production, and operations teams to ensure accurate data integration
  • Drive automation and process improvements (specifically seeking someone who challenges the status quo and streamlines workflows)
Deal-breaker requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred, not required)
  • 5–7+ years of upstream oil & gas revenue accounting experience (must-have)
  • Advanced Excel + strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with revenue/accounting systems (ie OGSYS/OGPro,
    Quorum On Demand Accounting
    )
  • Familiarity with Energy Link preferred
Who succeeds here
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and organized
  • Enjoys a “wear multiple hats” environment and learning backup coverage for other cycles
  • Process-improvement mindset (not just a “do-er”) — the team values initiative, automation, and scalability
