Accounts Payable Lead

The AP Lead is responsible for overseeing the full-cycle accounts payable function in a fast-paced construction environment. This role ensures accurate and timely processing of subcontractor and vendor invoices, compliance with contract terms, and adherence to internal controls.

• Supervise daily accounts payable operations, including high-volume invoice processing, subcontractor pay applications, and weekly payment runs
• Review and approve invoices for proper coding to jobs, cost codes, locations, and general ledger accounts
• Ensure compliance with subcontract agreements, lien waiver requirements, insurance documentation, and payment terms
• Oversee vendor and subcontractor setup process, including collection and review of W-9s, insurance certificates, ACH forms, and other required compliance documentation
• Process invoices, expense reports, and payment requests accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain vendor master file integrity and ensure proper internal controls around new vendor creation and changes
• Partner with project managers to resolve invoice discrepancies and job-related questions
• Assist with month-end close, including AP accruals and reconciliation of the AP subledger to the general ledger
• Support year-end 1099 preparation and reporting

• Minimum associate’s degree or related field preferred
• 5+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in construction or job-cost environments
• Some supervisory or lead experience preferred
