Job Responsibilities
- The Tax intern will provide assistance with tax compliance matters while gaining general experience and exposure to the functions of a corporate tax department. Specifically, the responsibilities will include the following:
- Calculating federal, state and city quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Preparing federal, state and city income tax returns.
- Researching and assisting with the resolution of state notices.
- Reconciling fixed assets, updating the fixed asset database, and generating reports for tax filings.
- Reconciling and uploading state apportionment factors.
- Assisting with the provision process.
- Researching federal and state tax issues.
- Assisting with special projects as needed.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage work and meet internal and statutory deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Teams, Outlook, Excel and Word).
- Experience with Corptax is a plus.
- The candidate for this position should be working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting with completion of Intermediate Accounting.
