Technical Accounting Director

• Visible leadership role serving as the subject matter expert on complex U.S. GAAP matters
• Newly created, high impact position partnering with senior leadership and global operational teams

• Act as the primary authority on complex accounting topics, advising leadership on proper treatment of significant transactions
• Monitor emerging accounting guidance and evaluate implications to the organization’s financial statements and disclosures
• Draft and review detailed technical memoranda to support accounting conclusions
• Guide the evolution of company-wide accounting policies to align with regulatory and operational changes
• Partner cross functionally to ensure consistent interpretation and application of accounting standards across business units
• Provide technical support for acquisitions, integrations and other strategic initiatives
• Interface directly with external auditors to address technical matters during quarterly and annual reporting cycles
• Lead, mentor and develop a specialized technical accounting team
• Evaluate and enhance internal control processes within the controllership function
• Contribute to process improvements that strengthen the quality and timeliness of financial reporting

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and CPA required
• 10+ years of experience to include Big 4 Audit
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting and SOX compliance
• Strong technical writing skills with the ability to communicate complex matters clearly
• Background in manufacturing or industrial industries
