Tax Accountant

A highly reputable, boutique tax firm in the Houston area is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant (CPA required) to join their team on a contract or contract-to-hire basis.

This firm provides full-cycle tax accounting services across a diverse client base, including corporations, partnerships, estates, and high-net-worth individuals. Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for:

• Corporations (C‑Corp and S‑Corp)
• Partnerships
• Estates and trusts

• Manage full‑cycle tax engagements from data collection through filing
• Conduct tax research and provide guidance on complex tax issues
• Prepare estimated tax payments and projections
• Respond to client inquiries and provide strategic tax planning support
• Ensure compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations
• Collaborate with firm leadership on client deliverables and deadlines

• Active CPA license (Required – no exceptions)
• 5+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong experience with corporate, partnership, estate, and individual tax returns
• Deep knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
• Experience handling multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy

• Experience in a boutique or regional public accounting firm
• Exposure to high-net-worth clients
• Experience reviewing returns (not just preparing)
• Proficiency in tax software platforms (CCH, Pro System, Ultra Tax, etc.)
