Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing and actively participating in the day‑to‑day accounts payable operations for Naumann Hobbs and Transwest Mobile. This role leads a small team while also remaining hands‑on in invoice processing, reconciliations, and payment execution. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with leadership ability, process improvement mindset, and a commitment to accuracy and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and participate in full‑cycle accounts payable operations in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
- Supervise, mentor, and support 1–3 AP Specialists; provide training, guidance, and performance oversight.
- Review, approve, and process invoices including PO‑based 3‑way matching and non‑PO approval workflows.
- Ensure timely and accurate weekly payment runs (check, ACH, wire) in accordance with company policies.
- Manage vendor relationships, resolve discrepancies, and maintain vendor files and compliance documentation.
- Perform and review account reconciliations and assist with month‑end close, including accruals and reporting support.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal control procedures.
- Develop, track, and report AP‑related KPIs (invoice volume, processing time, aging, discounts captured, etc.).
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities across AP workflows.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Accounting, and Leadership to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and employee information.
- Support internal and external audit requests as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 5+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Experience managing high‑volume invoice processing environments.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control practices.
- Experience with Quick Books and/or ERP systems; familiarity with Paycom is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIF, etc.).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
