Position Summary:
Under the mentorship of the Controller, the Inventory Accountant will be primarily responsible for accounting of the company’s Cost of Goods with a focus on inventory on hand, inventory reserves, inventory movements and variances. Additionally, the Inventory Accountant is responsible for the oversight of the company’s inventory-related finances, such as maintaining accurate records and values in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Reconciliation of book to physical for all Third Coast Owned raw materials and inventory.
- Reconciliation of tank strapping measurements to Dynamics inventory quantities/values.
- Reconciliation of all packaged raw materials, packaging supplies, tank, and iso/tank truck/rail inventory.
- Any additional reconciliation necessary for an efficient month end close process.
- Reconciliation of the Inventory Valuation Report to the general ledger including researching and investigating variances as needed.
- Reconciliation of tank inventory at our third-party locations, as applicable.
- Consistent monitoring and oversight of production orders to avoid discrepancies caused by consuming/producing the incorrect product/amounts.
- Financially ending all production orders researching and investigating errors/issues as needed.
- Create, maintain, and manage an Inventory Aging Report, and a Warehouse report appropriate for invoicing as applicable.
- Create and manage trends and data related to product costs.
- Assist in strategic planning, budgeting and purchasing.
- Assist and support Inventory Audit & Reporting Manager as needed.
- Function as a liaison between Operations and Accounting for support related to the above duties listed.
- Perform audits as needed and assist in any external audits.
- Establish and maintain internal controls and processes necessary to ensure the integrity of data and to safeguard inventory to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related experience
- 3-5 years experience working with inventory or related field
- Knowledge of operational plant process
- Chemical and Manufacturing Experience
Preference:
- Experience working directly within Microsoft Dynamics

- Proficient in working with Microsoft Office Word and Outlook

- Ability to work with a sense of urgency, accuracy, teamwork and cooperation
- Mostly an office setting, including sitting, some bending, walking, and viewing. Additionally, walking around the plant facilities will be required at times during any physical audits or any other task that requires observation or physical counts.
