Accounting Manager

A privately held infrastructure investment and development platform is building its internal finance function and is hiring an Accounting Manager to own the accounting workstream end-to-end. This is a hands-on role for a technically strong CPA who is comfortable operating independently, with full responsibility for the books, controls, and audit process. There is no existing accounting team and no delegation layer.

• Establish and operate the full in-house accounting function, transitioning from an external accounting firm
• Perform all core accounting activities personally, including AP entry, GL maintenance, month-end close, and financial statement preparation
• Design and maintain internal controls and accounting policies appropriate for a growing infrastructure platform
• Manage the annual audit process end-to-end, acting as the primary point of contact with external auditors
• Support tax compliance, cash management, and lender / investor reporting as required
• Partner directly with senior leadership on accounting implications of new projects, investments, and financings

• Active CPA required (no exceptions)
• Prior Big 4 audit or accounting experience required
• Strong technical accounting foundation and comfort making decisions without templates or legacy processes
• Experience in project-based, asset-heavy, or infrastructure-related businesses strongly preferred
• High attention to detail, strong ownership mentality, and willingness to operate at both strategic and transactional levels

This role is best suited to a technically rigorous accountant who wants full accountability, minimal hand-holding, and direct exposure to senior decision-makers. Candidates seeking narrow scopes, established teams, or purely review-level roles will not be a fit.
