Collections Clerk

Overview

A services company is seeking a skilled Collections Clerk to join their team. The Collector will monitor and make calls on past due accounts, identify problem areas and process payments.

Pay: $25-$30/hr
Location: Houston, TX – ONSITE
Type: Long Term Contract

• Review open accounts for collection efforts.
• Make outbound collection calls in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations.
• Resolve client-billing problems and rescues accounts receivable delinquency, applying good customer service in a timely manner.
• Maintain records of all collection activity by entering detailed call notes in the database.
• Act as a liaison between customers and internal departments (operations, invoicing, sales) to deal with and correct problems that may cause a delay in payments.
• Collect customer payments in accordance with payment due dates.
• Identify issues attributing to account delinquency and discuss them with management.
• Review and monitor assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports.
• Provide timely follow-up on payment arrangements.
• Mail and/or email correspondence to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
• Perform additional duties as needed

• 3+ years of corporate collections experience; interaction with a large customer base
• Strong written and verbal communication, problem solving, and analytical skills required
• Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-changing environment
• Highly proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
• Creative, self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency
• Self-starter with a great personality to build rapport with our customers
