This is a true second-in-command accounting role, not a back-office support seat. Join a dynamic team within the construction industry is hiring an Senior Accountant to partner directly with the Controller and own the day-to-day accounting operations for a fast-growing commercial electrical contractor. This role touches payroll, AP, job cost accounting, and month-end close, with real responsibility and clear runway to grow into a Controller seat as the company scales.

You'll be hands-on, trusted, and expected to know your craft from day one. They're looking for a confident construction accountant who knows subcontractor accounting, works well in a no-nonsense environment, and wants stability, growth, and ownership without reinventing the wheel.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
  • Manage payroll for 75 employees, both hourly and salaried, on a weekly basis using Viewpoint software.
  • Conduct cost accounting and assist with percentage of completion calculations.
  • Oversee accounts payable processes.
  • Perform data entry and reconciliation tasks.
  • Handle disbursements and billing/invoicing.
  • Assist the Controller with month-end close activities, including journal entries and full-cycle accounting.
Senior Accountant Requirements:
  • 2-3+ years of experience in construction accounting, specifically for a subcontractor.
  • Experience in accounts payable and receivable.
  • Proficiency in payroll processing; training on certified payroll is available.
  • Strong general ledger accounting skills.
  • Experience with Viewpoint software is mandatory.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including formulas.
