We are looking for a full-time Staff Accountant for our Reliance division in Houston, TX. This position reports to the Division Controller and will be responsible for supporting core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.

This is an in-office role at our Houston branch and only candidates currently living in Houston will be considered.
Job Responsibilities

• Support month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist the Controller with inventory costing processes and monthly inventory account reconciliations.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Record, reconcile, and maintain daily cash transactions.
• Prepare, review, and process sales and purchase invoices accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve billing inquiries and ensure proper invoice processing.
• Process and review monthly employee expense reports.
• Assist with weekly check runs and payment processing.
• Maintain organized accounting records by archiving documentation and providing administrative support to the Controller.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and related functions).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
