Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This role requires an individual with a strong background in corporate tax, financial reporting, and general accounting practices. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving abilities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review corporate tax returns with precision and adherence to regulations.

- Manage sales tax filings and ensure compliance with state and local requirements.

- Record accurate journal entries to maintain financial integrity.

- Reconcile the general ledger accounts to ensure completeness and accuracy.

- Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

- Collaborate with internal teams to support month-end and year-end closing processes.

- Analyze financial data to provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

- Assist in preparing detailed reports for management review.

- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting practices to ensure compliance. Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

- Proficiency in preparing corporate tax returns and managing sales tax.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger reconciliation and journal entries.

- Familiarity with accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
