Project Accountant - Houston

Powers Brown Architecture is looking to add a full-time Project Accountant in the Houston office. The ideal candidate must have a demonstrated knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices related to project accounting as well as excellent interpersonal abilities, strong communication and organizational skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Timely and accurate accounting of projects and general ledger
• Set up and maintenance of projects per contract terms
• Input and tracking of project budgets
• Preparation of monthly invoices
• Input and posting of consulting invoices, communication with consultants, and submittal of payments for approval
• Monthly Consultant reconciliation
• Assistance with AR collection efforts
• Assistance with month-end closing and related journal entries

• Knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices related to project accounting
• Analysis of project/financial reports
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
• Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree
• Minimum two years of Project Accounting experience, A&E experience preferred
• Experience with Deltek Ajera or similar project accounting software a plus
