Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join the Accounting team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business objectives. This is an opportunity suited for a self-starter who is system- and Excel-savvy and seeking a role that offers strong exposure.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Conduct month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Oversee accounting for the lease portfolio, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and lease income/expenses.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Collaborate with external auditors during financial and tax audits, providing documentation and support.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, provide insights, and recommend cost-saving or process-improvement strategies.
- Maintain and update internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities to support organizational goals.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Net Suite, SAP, or equivalent).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred:
Experience with ERP systems and process automation.
