Position OverviewThe Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month end close activities, and ensuring strong general ledger controls. This role focuses on core accounting execution and works closely with internal teams to support day to day accounting operations. The position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is comfortable working in a structured, fast paced, in office environment and is looking to continue developing within a stable accounting function.
Key Responsibilities- Perform balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries using both cash and accrual accounting principles, as applicable
- Investigate discrepancies and recommend appropriate resolutions
- Prepare and post journal entries using accrual and cash basis accounting principles
- Support month end and period end close activities
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Review and reconcile corporate credit card activity
- Monitor expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support accounting related inquiries
- Assist with ERP system enhancements, integrations, and accounting process improvements
- Support audits and internal reviews as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of three to five years of progressive accounting experience
- Hands on experience with general ledger accounting and reconciliations
- Working knowledge of cash basis accounting and experience applying accrual accounting concepts
- Experience supporting period end close
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail with solid organizational skills
- Ability to manage responsibilities independently while working collaboratively with a team
- Experience working within an ERP system environment
- Exposure to accounting system implementations or integrations
- Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, or basic financial analysis activities
- Prior experience in a professional services or legal environment is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
