Cost Accountant

Our client in Southeast Houston, manufacturing company is seeking a driven and detail‑oriented Cost Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. • Maintain and analyze standard cost systems for manufacturing operations
• Track and report on project costs, including labor, materials, and overhead
• Partner with operations to monitor variances and recommend corrective actions
• Perform cost roll‑ups, margin analysis, and inventory valuation
• Support month‑end close with cost accounting entries and analysis
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Collaborate with the Controller and CFO on strategic cost initiatives
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and GAAP

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (required)
• 3+ years of relevant experience in standard cost accounting and project cost accounting
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team‑oriented environment
