Staff Accountant

Description

Our healthcare client is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team on a contract to hire basis. This role is 100% onsite and will report directly to the CFO. If you have the following experience, please apply today.

+ Prepare and maintain general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations related to healthcare operations

+ Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities

+ Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions with a focus on healthcare-specific transactions

+ Analyze and reconcile patient billing and collections

+ Ensure accuracy and compliance with all regulatory requirements (HIPAA, GAAP, and internal policies)

+ Work collaboratively with revenue cycle and clinical teams to ensure proper posting and reporting of patient care revenues

+ Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports

+ Assist with external audits and provide documentation as needed

+ Identify process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

+ 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare environment

+ Strong understanding of healthcare billing, insurance payments, and revenue cycle processes

+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with Epic, Meditech, or similar healthcare systems a plus)

+ Solid understanding of GAAP and healthcare regulatory standards

+ Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills

+ Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
