Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to manage core accounting operations for our organization. The role focuses on delivering weekly and monthly financial reports to provide the owner with clear visibility into revenue influx, improving existing accounting processes, managing and performing standard CPA duties. We utilize Quick Books, Clio, and Excel as our primary tools; training will be provided as needed.
Candidates must demonstrate foundational proficiency in basic accounting functions within Quick Books and Excel. No prior professional experience or benefits are offered.
- Prepare and deliver weekly financial reports summarizing revenue influx, cash flow status, key performance indicators (KPIs), and variances from budget or prior periods to enable the owner to monitor business health proactively.
- Compile monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, with detailed analyses of revenue trends, expenses, and profitability metrics.
- Conduct variance analysis and forecasting to identify potential risks or opportunities in revenue streams.
- Evaluate and enhance existing accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Implement automated tools, workflows, or software integrations within Quick Books, Clio, and Excel to streamline reconciliation, invoicing, and reporting procedures, reducing manual errors and processing time.
- Oversee daily transaction processing, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries using Quick Books and Clio.
- Perform bank reconciliations, invoice verification, and expense categorizations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled in a timely manner.
- Manage vendor payments, customer collections, and intercompany transactions while maintaining audit-ready documentation.
- Ensure tax compliance by preparing and filing federal, state, and local tax returns; identify tax-saving opportunities and advise on deductions or credits.
- Conduct internal audits, prepare for external audits, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide strategic financial advice, including budgeting, cost analysis, and support for business decisions such as investments or expansions.
- Reconcile accounts, manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and inventory valuations as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; active CPA license required.
- No prior professional experience required; internships, academic projects, or relevant coursework demonstrating accounting proficiency are advantageous.
- Basic proficiency in Quick Books for transaction entry, reconciliations, and reporting; competence in Excel for data entry, formulas, pivot tables, and basic analysis.
- Familiarity with Clio is preferred but not required; comprehensive training on all systems will be provided.
- Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, excellent communication skills for presenting complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
