About the RoleThe Tax Senior will be a key contributor to the firm’s expanding tax practice, managing client engagements, mentoring staff, and delivering high-quality tax compliance and consulting services. Responsibilities- Lead tax engagements in collaboration with managers and partners, including scheduling, staffing, and overseeing completion of returns.
- Provide the first level of technical review for tax returns and research complex technical issues.
- Manage internal and client deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact to proactively address questions, gather information, and identify planning opportunities.
- Prepare and review quarterly estimates and year-end projections.
- Respond to IRS and state tax notices.
- Supervise, train, and mentor Tax Associates and Interns, ensuring proper prioritization and completion of assignments.
- Act as a Project Manager to oversee workflow and team performance.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA license preferred; CPA eligibility required and active pursuit of licensure is expected.
- 2–3+ years of experience, preferably in public accounting.
- Proficiency in partnership, S corporation, C corporation, and individual taxation.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to perform technical tax research, summarize findings, and communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated skills in coaching and developing junior team members.
