Accountant, Financial Reporting, Senior Accountant

As part of our centralized Accounting team based in Houston, TX, you’ll support a company that serves millions of meals daily across schools, healthcare facilities, senior living communities, and more.

We’re looking for a self-driven and solutions-oriented Staff Accountant to join our fast-paced and evolving accounting organization. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant financial records by entering and reconciling transactions, managing multiple company accounts, and preparing detailed schedules for internal and external audits. You’ll also assist with a variety of reporting and administrative tasks as we continue to streamline and enhance our processes.

• Enter financial data into accounting systems, including posting general ledger and journal entries, and verifying the accuracy of daily transactions across multiple entities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and key income statement accounts.
• Maintain accurate account balances and monitor bank statement activity.
• Record month-end accruals and ensure proper allocation of transactions to the correct legal entities.
• Oversee compliance with company policies and procedures for assigned areas; identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend enhancements.
• Support internal teams with ad‑hoc reporting, data analysis, and information requests.
• Assist with the preparation and coordination of statutory audits.
• Contribute to special projects and initiatives as directed by management.
• Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Build and maintain Power
  
  BI dashboards to visualize financial data, support reconciliations, monitor account activity, and provide actionable insights for audits, reporting, and special projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience with in a high-volume shared services or multi‑entity environment, highly preferred
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• ERP experience (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics GP, SAP)
• Knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, month‑end close, internal controls, and audit processes
• Experience supporting multiple locations or remote teams
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical accounting skills
• Able to meet deadlines and manage shifting priorities

You will work onsite at our new corporate office in Houston, TX four days a week, with the option to work remotely one day per week. Our office is located at 4920 Westway Park Blvd, Houston, TX 77041.

$65,000.00 to $75,000.00
