POSITION: Staff Accountant
CATEGORY: Full-time, Exempt
JOB FUNCTION: Financial Reporting / General Accounting
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance team with day‑to‑day accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate general ledger records. This role ensures compliance with accounting principles and company policies and supports month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
- Prepare and maintain financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments/collections.
- Utilize financial software to manage financial data effectively.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for decision‑making.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial management initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to guide company strategy.
- Ensure proper documentation and record‑keeping for all financial transactions.
- Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.
- Perform financial review of sub‑consultants and contractors for clients.
- Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform the audit.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience:
- 2 years+ accounting experience required.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, SAP, or similar).
- Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of financial accounting.
- Proficiency in financial software applications.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization.
- Languages: Bilingual in English and Chinese required.
