The Accounting Clerk supports the finance and accounting team by assisting with day-to-day accounting operations and maintaining accurate financial records. This role focuses on transactional processing, data entry, and administrative accounting tasks to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Experience in property management or construction accounting is a plus, but not required.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with posting journal entries and maintaining general ledger records.
- Perform basic account reconciliations and support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including invoices, payments, and collections support.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and schedules for management and accounting leadership.
- Track and code project- or property-related expenses, as applicable.
- Support audits, tax preparation, and other compliance‑related requests as needed.
- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely processing of financial transactions.
- Process expense reports and ensure proper documentation and approvals are obtained.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 0–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in property management, construction, or a related industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Experience with property management or construction accounting systems.
- Familiarity with industry‑specific accounting practices and reporting standards.
