This position is responsible for overseeing daily and monthly accounting processes, including but not limited to cashflow management, accounts payable, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to interpret financial data and maintain the integrity of the general ledger. This role requires consistent review of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy across projects, timely identification of variances, and proper classification of transactions.
The Accounting Associate will work closely with the Director of Accounting and other various departments to support month-end closings, streamline financial workflows, and help drive operational excellence within the accounting function.
- Manage daily accounting activities, including processing invoices, recording transactions, and maintaining accurate general ledger entries.
- Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and other key month-end tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing journal entries, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
- Conduct general ledger analysis to identify variances and ensure proper coding and classification of transactions.
- Support the tracking of fixed assets, capital contributions, and intercompany activity.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial analysis as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support efficient accounting processes and timely decision-making.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and support audits or special projects as assigned.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in homebuilding, real estate, or construction.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
- Proficiency with BRIX and Build Pro software (preferred).
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other departments in the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
