Financial and Accounting Support (Part-Time)
This role provides part-time support for a non-profit board, including administrative support for the board, general customer support for the membership, accounting support, and sales administration. All accounting activities are under the direction of the treasurer.
Base pay range
$20.00/hr - $25.00/hr
Interested in some extra money part time? (20 hours a week)
Responsibilities- Maintain section files and inventory management (items needed to set up for events)
- Handle telephone and written inquiries to connect members to the responsible board member or committee on matters such as SPE-GCS programs, events, website, and general inquiries
- Support during section events and trade shows
- Support the annual awards banquet in accordance with a plan to be agreed upon with the chair. Complete special projects as approved and prioritized by the chair
- Manage financial records for the annual budget under the direction of the treasurer
- Manage financial records and tracking for the Scholarship Endowment Fund (SEF)
- Participate in budget preparation, review, and input into Quick Books
- Process the accounts payable and receivable function for the SPE-GCS accounts
- Process refunds and reimbursements to members, vendors, or sponsors
- Process and mail checks through Quick Books
- Reconcile bank account statements
- Prepare and provide financial reporting for the board
- Coordinate invoicing, receipts, processing, and notifications for section sponsor ships
- Provide support for audits
- Associate’s degree with 1-3 years of experience in administrative, bookkeeping, and accounting support or a bachelor’s degree with 1-3 years of similar experience. A degree in business, finance, or accounting would be a plus
- Quick Books or other similar bookkeeping and accounting software
- Must be proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to learn, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to compose reports, business correspondence, and online communications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. Understanding of statistical concepts and their application in data analysis.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to analyze complex data sets to gain insight from them, then present findings effectively in graphical form to allow ease of understanding.
