Our accounting firm client is searching for a Sales & Use Tax Accountant for their office located near Northwest Houston (near 610 and 290). This position can be either direct hire or contract, and it’s a hybrid role with 2 days per week in the office. The salary range is $90,000-$100,000 per year (for direct hire).

Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and preparing sales and use tax returns, including analyzing taxability issues.
• Reconciling sales and use tax accounts and preparing journal entries.
• Handling corporate filings, including assembling data for federal and state income tax returns.
• Assisting with obtaining qualifications, registrations, and business licenses from state and local agencies as required.
• Ensuring all sales/use tax registrations are current and managing related notices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field;
  Master’s degree is a plus.
• At least 3 years of sales and use tax experience.
• Strong hands-on research skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other computer skills.
