Responsible for ensuring the physical safety and security of SAP employees, buildings, and assets through the implementation and compliance with Global Physical Security Standards and procedures within the UK, Ireland, and Nordics sub‑region, including:
- Guarding services, physical security countermeasures, personnel security, crisis management
- Electronic security systems
- Incident response and management, investigations, awareness and enablement
- Security project management, security compliance to internal and external standards
- Overall operational responsibility for security operations and related OPEX and CAPEX spend management
- Conduct physical building security risk assessments, surveys, and physical penetration testing
- Execute planning, design, bid, construction, and commissioning activities for multiple concurrent projects, overseeing all aspects of physical security related to these projects (new construction and renovation, system replacements, and/or additions)
- Partner / support SAP Health and Safety programs and ensure emergency responses are established
- Report on physical security strategy and metrics (KPIs)
- Maintain close relationship with law enforcement and emergency responders
- Proactively contribute to developing the team capabilities across the region through initiatives, working groups, and knowledge sharing
- Work as directed by manager
- Intermediate business acumen: ability to comprehend and manage financial aspects (develop business cases, cost/benefit)
- Strong process evaluation: ongoing evaluation of processes and programs to ensure compliance with best practices, internal standards and procedures while ensuring efficiency, rationalisation, and practicality
- Strong customer relations and leadership skills: ability to manage a diverse range of internal stakeholders (executives, senior management, lines of business)
- Comprehensive communication skills: strong English writing, speaking, and comprehension skills, including analytical and technical data
- Intermediate project / program management: understanding, implementing, and reporting on project/program planning, design, bid, construction, and commissioning of materials and services
- Strong physical security industry knowledge: full understanding of physical security product (manufacturer vs distributor vs integrator) and services market
- Compliance & audit experience: related audit and compliance experience in an operational security setting aligned to or relatable to the operating environment of SAP
- 5 years experience in physical security industry or equivalent, including management experience (military, law enforcement, etc.)
- Associate’s degree in related field
- Ability to pass background verification & BPSS (Baseline Personal Security Standard National Security Vetting)
