Responsibilities- Act as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice.
- Effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes.
- Maintain involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and department strategic goals and objectives; demonstrate professional responsibility and accountability for own practice.
- Support the company’s philosophy of nursing.
- Use the nursing process to deliver patient care; assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and other groups or disciplines.
- Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal); serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Use data and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Promote customer satisfaction and maintain high employee morale; contribute to professional nursing improvement.
- Adapt behavior to diverse patient populations, respecting privacy, explaining services appropriately, and using suitable communication styles.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Education
Required — Registered nurse diploma.
Preferred — Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Work Experience
Required — None.
Certifications
Required — Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred — Certification in a clinical specialty area.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
(KSAs)
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Good organizational and time-management skills; ability to be self-directed.
- Ability to exercise good judgment.
The physical essential functions include exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally up to 100 pounds; physical demands may exceed those for sedentary work.
