AR Follow-Up Revenue Cycle Specialist (On-Site – Houma, LA)
Role Summary
The AR Follow-Up Revenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for managing and resolving outstanding insurance accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement. This role focuses on payer follow-up, denial resolution, and revenue recovery while maintaining compliance with billing regulations.
- Actively work insurance accounts receivable to resolve unpaid, underpaid, or delayed claims
- Conduct follow-up with insurance payers via phone, portals, and electronic correspondence
- Research claim denials, identify root causes, and take corrective action
- Submit appeals and supporting documentation as required
- Document all follow-up activity accurately within the billing system
- Monitor payer trends and escalate recurring issues to leadership
- Meet productivity and aging benchmarks for assigned AR inventory

Qualifications & Skills- Prior experience in medical billing or revenue cycle AR follow-up
- Strong understanding of insurance payer rules and denial codes
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
