Job SummaryThe Store Manager is responsible for supporting merchandising, operational and human resources functions for an individual store to achieve or exceed planned sales and profits. This position requires a proactive, engaged individual who demonstrates integrity, effective communication skills and works effectively in a dynamic retail setting. The Store Manager will build a positive work culture, drive employee involvement and support change management within the organization.
Duties/ Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, hire, counsel and terminate employees while ensuring legal compliance and internal processes.
- Maintain financial controls including shrink, payroll and operating expenses.
- Control inventory and facilitate inventory transactions while complying with shrink control standards.
- Monitor sales activities to ensure satisfactory customer service.
- Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or performing services for customers.
- Ensure staff adherence to all Citi Trends, Inc. policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
- Perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3‑5 years of retail experience as a Store Manager.
- 5‑7 years of retail experience overall.
- Store Managers are scheduled to work 45 hours per week and must be able to perform the essential physical functions listed below with or without accommodation.
- Squat/Kneel/Stoop (frequent to continuous)
- Stand/Bend/Walk (frequent to continuous)
- Twist (occasional to frequent)
- Reach above shoulder (occasional to frequent)
- Lift/Carry (occasional to frequent)
- Push/Pull (occasional to frequent)
- Use of hands (manual dexterity, grasping frequent to continuous)
