Job Summary and Responsibilities

CHI St. Vincent Heart and Vascular Center is seeking a dedicated Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic Nuclear Medicine Department in Hot Springs! If you are committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic and patient care within a specialized setting, we encourage you to apply.

As a Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner in our Nuclear Medicine Department, you will play a crucial role in performing stress tests and providing comprehensive patient assessment and management. You will work within a collaborative team, utilizing your expertise to contribute to accurate cardiac diagnoses and effective patient care plans.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Accurately assesses patient conditions and documents effectively to support charges and to communicate with other providers.
  • Provides comprehensive patient assessment, including functional, mental, social and physical conditions. Establishes accurate diagnosis.
  • Seeks consultation/supervision of physician as needed to confirm proper assessment.
  • Appropriately involves patients and caregivers in treatment planning.
  • Provides interface between clinic and other providers to assure timely, comprehensive services for patients.
  • Independently develops and implements treatment plans and evaluates patient's outcomes.
  • Complies with all statutes and regulations governing Advanced Practitioner Nurses and functions within the legal boundaries of the APN category.
  • Takes responsibility for clearly communicating patient needs, care plans and problem resolution to physicians and other healthcare teams.
  • Possesses knowledge and skill to provide supervision to clinical staff as needed.
  • Uses process improvement skills to contribute to team development and program growth.
  • Provide clinical support for physicians in satellite clinics, as needed.
  • Performing and overseeing pharmacological and exercise stress tests in the Nuclear Medicine Department.
  • Interpreting stress test results and communicating findings to the supervising physician.
  • Educating patients about stress test procedures and post-test care.
  • Managing potential complications during stress testing.

Job Requirements
  • Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Arkansas.
  • Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP, Family NP with relevant cardiology experience, or Adult NP with cardiology experience preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with significant experience in cardiology or a related critical care/emergency setting.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing and interpreting stress tests (pharmacological and exercise) is highly desirable.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision‑making skills, particularly in cardiovascular assessment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, specialized team.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems.
