Encompass Health, the largest in‑patient rehabilitation company in the nation, seeks an experienced Facilities Management Director to ensure the smooth and safe operation of its hospitals. The role focuses on creating a welcoming, healing environment while meeting regulatory standards and fostering patient safety.
Responsibilities- Ensure rehabilitation hospitals, satellite clinics, and related building systems adhere to Joint Commission standards, local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
- Plan and lead environment of care/safety meetings; serve as safety officer in charge of compliance.
- Coordinate and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs in alignment with industry standards and equipment manufacturer recommendations.
- Cultivate and maintain an inclusive work environment and culture that embraces diversity.
- Bachelor's degree and/or five or more years of experience in hospital maintenance or construction within a healthcare setting.
- Minimum five years of supervisory experience in healthcare‑related facility equipment and systems operations, including expertise in chiller systems, steam boilers, hydraulic systems, building controls, electrical systems, and air handlers.
- Broad knowledge of TJC, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory agency standards.
- Membership in a state or national healthcare engineering association preferred.
- Preferred:
Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM). - Valid driver’s license required.
- May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts, including religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.
