The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements. This role leads the AP team, maintains strong internal controls, supports month-end close activities, and partners cross-functionally to improve processes and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice intake, coding, approvals, and payment execution
- Lead, coach, and develop the accounts payable team; set performance expectations and conduct regular reviews
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, employee expenses, and payment runs
- Maintain and enforce internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee vendor setup and maintenance, including tax documentation
- Resolve complex invoice discrepancies, vendor inquiries, and escalated issues
- Partner with Procurement, Finance, and other stakeholders to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and accruals
- Prepare AP-related reports and metrics for management, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process automation and system enhancements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of progressive accounts payable or accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, internal controls, and accounting principles
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Workday, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
